Headquartered in Maumee, Ohio, Therma-Tru is part of Fortune Brands Home & Security, Inc which includes Moen, MasterBrand, and Master Lock companies.    As the IT Information Security Intern, you will work as a member of the Information Security team at Therma-Tru, while having the opportunity to engage with the Enterprise Security team. You will have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies in Cyber Security and you will be mentored in how to use them and why they are relevant.   Under the general supervision of the Information Security Manager, you will be expected to monitor security feeds streaming from client servers, network devices, and end user work stations, operate and maintain network security equipment on premises, and in the cloud. This role will also be responsible for security incident response on client networks. You will learn to utilize the latest in network security technology.   Key Responsibilities and Mentored Learning Opportunities: - Monitor and analyze network traffic and alerts - Investigate intrusion attempts and perform in-depth analysis of exploits - Provide network intrusion detection expertise to support timely and effective decision making of when to declare an incident - Conduct proactive threat research - Review security events that are populated in a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system - Analyze a variety of network and host-based security appliance logs (Firewalls, NIDS, HIDS, Sys Logs, etc.) to determine the correct remediation actions and escalation paths for each incident - Independently follow procedures to contain analyze and eradicate malicious activity - Document all activities during an incident and provide leadership with status updates during the life cycle of the incident - Incident management, response and reporting - Provide information regarding intrusion events, security incidents, and other threat indications and warning information to the client - Track trends, statistics, and key figured for each assigned client - Assist with the development of processes and procedures to improve incident response times, analysis of incident, and overall InfoSec functions - Security status reports - Business-facing security meetings - May perform other duties as assigned   A successful IT Intern will have: - Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program within the technology field - Desire to work in InfoSec is a must - Should possess knowledge of Microsoft Products including Word, Excel and Outlook - Willingness to learn new software in order to complete daily tasks - Prior network experience preferred (can include internships) - Great organization skills - Team oriented attitude - Must show extreme responsibility - Experience with web technologies and databases    Candidates for positions with Therma-Tru must be legally authorized to permanently work in the United States.
