Supervises PVC production employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment: plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. Typical staff size is 25-30 employees.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
Ensures effective employee relations and provides employee coaching and development. Makes employment decisions and works through employee issues following proper management and HR dept protocols.
Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
Works to continuously improve in all areas.
Contributes to the continuous improvement projects within the manufacturing operations.
Assists with updating Standard Operating Procedures.
Assists with achieving daily production requirements and accurately reporting these results.
Participates in and actively support facility safety systems.
Understands and utilize the Quality Assurance system.
Provides leadership and manages department priorities.
Improve working conditions (safety, quality, productivity, cost) and increase subordinates’ skills and capabilities.
Assists plant manager in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedure, safety, quality control and performance management.
Directs maintenance personnel to correct issues regarding equipment.
Other duties may be assigned.
High School Diploma or GED; Associates Degree preferred.
3-5 years manufacturing experience.
1-2 years’ experience in plastics extrusion or plastics manufacturing.
1-2 years’ previous supervisory experienced preferred.
Kaizen training and work experience, a plus.
Quality management systems experience, a plus.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to work 12 hour shifts in a continuous manufacturing operation.
