    The process engineer, with an tooling/machining focus, will find ways to prevent waste and inefficiency in production processes. They will design efficient systems that integrate workers, information, machines, energy and materials to make products or provide services. The process engineer may also design equipment to coordinate production planning to minimize production issues and costs while ensuring products meet quality standards. They will design, develop and maintain manufacturing routes to maximize effectiveness, efficiency and space. The process engineer will also make sure the company complies with all industry standards for safety while meeting design standards and guidelines. They will also work in a support role as needed on less complex projects such as:


    1)      Actively participate in the VBS (Values Based Safety) Program

    2)      Participate in incident investigations and resolutions

    3)      Develop process improvements with a “safety first” attitude regarding material handling. 

    4)      Immediately address any potential safety issues with the appropriate personnel

    5)      Review and evaluate ergonomic and safety concerns and risks for all activities and projects


    In this position, you’ll have the opportunity to: Lead the transformation in the Butler Manufacturing Operations as well as company-wide with regards to process engineering. You will drive improvements through all facets of the Value Stream from supplier to customer. This position is essential in developing a culture of continuous improvement and  lean manufacturing.    


    • Develop TTB Standards and Sustainability for such Standards. Including but not limited to:
      • 5S Program
      • CI
      • Collaborate with safety and operations to insure alignment.
      • Plant Standards – regarding machining.
    • Act as an agent for cultural change and challenge the status quo
    • Lead and facilitate process improvements and strategic capital projects
    • Lead cross functional teams in utilizing value stream mapping to define current and future state
    • Support the development and use of plant standards for 5S and visual management
    • Collaborate with plant and corporate Continuous Improvement teams to share best practices
    • Develop standards for our door machining systems and processes.
    • Review production information to understand methods and activities in manufacturing and services. This includes, but is not limited to, production schedules, process flows and engineering specs


    • 4 year technical degree or extensive experience and knowledge in cnc machining.
    • Minimum of 5-10 years of machining experience
    • Knowledge and application of improvement tools including PDCA, SMED, 6 Sigma.
    • Passion and drive to continuously improve plant operations.
    • Proven interpersonal & communication skills at all organizational levels
    • Proven & effective facilitation, leadership, mentoring, and training skills.
    • Knowledge of machining and other methods for maximizing the efficient manufacture and distribution of goods.
    • Knowledge of the ways various systems interact and how changes in operations, the environment and other conditions will affect outcomes.
    • Knowledge of SPC, gauges and quality systems relating to machining.
