    Therma-Tru Doors is currently seeking a Project Engineer at our Howe, Indiana distribution center. The facility is conveniently located off the Indiana turnpike near the Indiana/Michigan border.

    As the Project Engineer, you will work with site leadership to manage capital projects and cost improvement projects in quality and productivity.  You will prepare and implement capital improvement projects related to safety, security, site expansion and actively participate in the development of lean processes. Using your communication and team building skills, you will drive a continuous improvement environment throughout the projecs. You will be successful by providing creative, out of the box ideas to everyday issues.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

     

    • Project management of personnel, budget, and scheduling to deliver a successful outcome 
    • Create and maintain process documentation including: standard work, procedures, machining process specifications, and OAM (operator assisted maintenance) procedures.
    • Understand and implement: Lean methodologies, measurement devices, engineering drawings, and product changes. Support the process improvement cycle: stabilize, optimize, and innovate.
    • Participate in and lead data-driven process improvements.
    • Collect and analyze data for process control and capability improvement.
    • Work on cross functional teams including members from operations, engineering, customer service, and safety.
    • Develop production process goals designed to meet sales and budgeted targets
    • Complete process improvement projects designed to meet or exceed sales and budget goals
    • Work with production to resolve process/quality problems.

                                        

    Requirements:

    • 4- year engineering degree - Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering preferred
    • 2 or more years of engineering experience 
    • Project Management experience
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Training experience: leading and facilitating
    • Ability to work in a cross functional team environment
    • Strong ability to drive change
    • Experience in a Facilities Engineer role preferred
    • Previous experience in Supervisory role leading team
