    As the Associate Process Engineer, you will work with the Engineering Services Team and Focus Factory Engineers in assisting, leading, and supporting DMC (Door Machining Center) OEE improvement projects focused on safety, availability, performance, and quality. Help implement capital improvement projects and actively participate in the development of Lean and Six Sigma processes.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Become subject matter expert (SME) for one or more processes, i.e. adhesives, foam, molding, roll forming, SMC, steel stamping, machining,
    • Develop and demonstrate basic knowledge of CNC machines, machining processes, cutting tools,
    • and drafting techniques.
    • Coordinate and support process/product trials. Collect data and run basic analysis to help evaluate largest improvement potential that will impact safety, availability, performance, and quality.
    • Create and maintain process documentation including: standard work, procedures, machining process specifications, and OAM (operator assisted maintenance) procedures.
    • Understand and implement: Lean methodologies, measurement devices, engineering drawings, and product changes. Support the process improvement cycle: stabilize, optimize, and innovate.
    • Participate in and lead data-driven process improvements.
    • Collect and analyze data for process control and capability improvement.
    • Work on cross functional teams including members from operations, engineering, customer service, and safety.
    • Support new product development activities.
    • May perform other duties as assigned.

                                              

    A successful DMC Process Technician will have:

    • 2 year technical degree preferred, or commensurate experience required
    • 3 or more years of practical manufacturing experience and involvement in process improvement efforts.
    • Conceptual knowledge of DMAIC and 6 sigma fundamentals
    • Conceptual knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and understanding/use of SPC (statistical process control).
    • Excellent time and project management and the ability to stick to timelines.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work in a cross functional team environment.
    • Strong ability to drive change and continuously improve.

    Candidates for positions with Therma-Tru must be legally authorized to permanently work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including student visas.
