2nd Shift Hours: 1:30 pm- 9:45 pm

3rd Shift Hours: 9:30 pm- 5:45 am


In this position, you’ll have the opportunity to: Use a slitter, or manually cut SMC material into specifically weighted shots that will be placed on a tool in a press. You will then operate the press to create a molded skin that you will remove from press, inspect, deflash, and stack. You may work in teams or alone. You will use various tools to complete and maintain operations.


  • Review of Mold Spec Sheets
  • Complete production ticket
  • Turn press on / off
  • Opening and Closing of press
  • Load Press
  • Using appropriate tools, remove molded skin from press
  • Using appropriate tools, deflash molded skin
  • Adjustment of deflash table
  • Visually inspect molded skin for defects
  • Stack skins on bunk
  • Count skins
  • Inspect press tool
  • Blowout press
  • Restock supplies and shadow board
  • Spray press with Mold Release
  • Assist with Mold Changes
  • Verify SMC types
  • Visually inspect SMC quality, and identify suspect SMC material
  • Manually cut SMC material
  • Weigh and fold SMC material per spec sheet
  • Program slitters
  • Load SMC into slitter
  • Startup slitter
  • Change slitter cutter blades
  • Dispose cutter blades in designated containers
  • Prepare MSI slitter for operation
  • Change MSI slitter bin
  • Ability to troubleshoot MSI slitter
  • Repair defective skin using documented techniques
  • Package skins per documentation
  • Know and understand molding production documents
  • Follow problem escalation process
  • Use a call light system
  • Perform documented total preventative maintenance on designated equipment
  • Dispose of aerosol cans using documented process
  • Maintain 6S: clean slitter, clean shot table, scrape/blow platen of mold and flash, scrape/blow stop pads, check alignment of blow offs, replace tools, blow off deflashing table, sweep, empty trash, ensure all items/equipment are located in designated places, and wipe oil off press
  • Must follow operational, quality, safety, and housekeeping guidelines
  • Other duties assigned

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the associate works around mechanical hazards, noise and or vibration on a daily basis. Extreme temperatures, wetness / humidity and being outdoors are seasonally in nature.


Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED required with six months to one year related experience preferred.


Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


Computer Skills: Computer literate.


Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence.
