Therma-Tru is seeking a Senior Human Resource Manager to oversee the HR Operations for 2 facilities in Matamoros, Mexico. THe HR Manager will collaborate with and support business partners on the human resource practices, including Organizational Development & Coaching, Change Management, Positive Associate Relations, Staffing, and Training. The Human Resources Manager will also provide salaried and hourly HR support to the site, including compensation & benefits, performance management, and corporate compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists in developing local policies, while ensuring alignment with standard practices and procedures.
  • Lead associate engagement and organizational development initiatives.
  • Support talent acquisition, onboarding, and succession planning.
  • Implement and administer HR policies and practices with consistency and in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Advise and lead investigations in regard to the appropriate resolution of associate relation issues
  • Manage conflict resolution and assist in discipline administration when necessary.
  • Promotes positive working relationships with managers and associates.
  • Support change management strategies.
  • Support/coach managers and staff on performance management.
  • Manage HR generalist functions including compensation, benefits, metrics, turnover and communications.
  • Direct and lead the assigned HR support personnel.
  • Keeps up to date on current human resource and labor market trends, new technology and applications.
  • Facilitate and participate on cross-functional teams and project initiatives in addition to other duties as assigned.           
  • Lead and Participate in 6S+
  • Lead and Participate in Value Based Safety
  • Encourage the participation in VBS and 6S+ programs
  • Follow up on all associate incidents to ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations
  • Lead Union negotiations.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements in Mexico
  • Coordinate mexican inmigration work visas.
  • Manage wages and salaries as well as propose retention strategies
  • May perform other duties as assigned



A successful HR Manager will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field; Master’s degree a plus
  • 5 or more years of human resources generalist experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Experience working in Maquiladora program
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational development skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Company policies and procedures
  • Ability to function effectively in a business partner role
  • Effective change management, multi-tasking, and problem solving skills
  • Effective communication, presentation, and facilitation skills with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to work proactively and with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to manage employment law issues
  • Demonstrated implementation and project management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in working with HRIS and time & attendance software
